Website History

In the early 2000s, the idea of creating an online space dedicated to the city of Ahfir began to take shape. This project, born from personal initiative and passion, gradually evolved into what would become Ahfir.com.

Over the years, the website appeared under several addresses:

  • ahfir.free.fr

  • ahfir.zzn

  • ahfir.eu

  • ahfir.com

It was Ahfir.com, launched in 2003, that became the main identity of the project. For nearly two decades, the site served as a meeting point, a place of sharing, and a digital memory for the people of Ahfir and its diaspora. It became widely known as “Ahfir Europe”, a vibrant space animated by enthusiasts of photography, video, and written articles.

The site was eventually abandoned and permanently closed in 2019, leaving behind a loyal community and a rich archive of content about the city.

 

Tribute to Contributors

Ahfir.com has never been the work of a single person. It lived thanks to an active, generous, and engaged community. The list is long, but it is important to mention some names and pseudonyms that marked the history of the site. With respect and gratitude:

The Return of Ahfir.com in 2026

After several years offline, Ahfir.com returns in 2026 with a new vision, a modern design, and renewed ambition. The site will now be published in three languages:

  • Arabic

  • French

  • English

All articles, sections, and content will be available in these three languages to reach the entire local and international community.
